The History of No Soy Yo

No Soy Yo was created on July 2nd when I (Henry) arrived at Joe's house at around 9pm eastern standard time. I was so hungry I immediately asked Casey to come to McDonalds with me. He graciously accepted and as we jumped in the car, a Michael Jackson CD I recently purchased started playing very loudly.......

We arrived in McDonalds in a very good mood at this point with a lot of energy. There was nothing going on inside so we took our food outside to my car. We decided it was a nice night and opened up my car and turned up the song "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough". With all of our energy Casey and I started dancing around 9:35 and didn't stop til 12:30.

Among numerous people who walked by and stared at us was a group of 20 year olds who thought we were hysterical and started to dance with us. It was at this very specific moment that fireworks went off in the background (no seriously, there were 4th of July fireworks) and Casey and I knew we had created something great.

Casey and I got back to Joe's house very excited and decided that we should make our own outdoor nightclub, dedicated to the music we love. At the time we had a very funny inside joke with our friend Carlos Amarilla, where we would say No Soy Yo and he would crack up in his very Spanish, contagious laugh. We named the club No Soy Yo and went back to the McDonalds parking lot the next night with a sign, flashing light, mini-bar (filled with water courtesy of Joe's parents) and invited a lot of people. Only about 15 kids showed up this night.

Our staff grew to having a bartender/bouncer named Joe, a technical mastermind and revolutioner Jeff Madden, motivational expert / dance enthusiast Charlie Stone, and a number one fan, Ed McEntee. So we moved the club to a field closer to our house (not Joe's house) and the club grew in size to roughly 60 heads a night. This caused quite a controversy among the town and the Police began to break our club up. We fought them hard and tried having the club at numerous different fields and parking lots, but the Police kept coming. So we were forced to adapt.

We started to DJ parties, keeping alive our love for soul and funk music. So now we are a full-time DJ company inspired by music to have fun and spread this fun to whomever we can, and to all musical interests. So if you want passionate DJs who know good music and only know how to have a good time, we are your guys.
